Well, I thought I would start a thread, its quiet and I think I should start a conversation. It looks like the site is growing and getting new members often. It appears that the male group is growing also. Thats great, Hopefully, some new members will join in. So, why do men love lingerie, especially wearing such fine clothing. There are some cheap versions, but well made lingerie is very nice and will last a long time. So why do I enjoy such fine clothing. To start with im totally hetro, married etc. I started back in my teens, but thats another story. I guess for me, its the rush of wearing the clothes made for women, I wear it under my clothes most of the time, summer you have to be carefull, especially bras, but the women have such a choice of clothes, its unreal, and the lingerie choices is even better. I enjoy the look, feel, detail, material, and colors. I think most women take it granted, other than the women here which who have join this site, they know. So I guess Im a crossdresser, not a tv, ts, or tg. I just simply love lingerie, Im sure I get looks shopping in lingerie depts, but I dont care, and its much more common now. I am courious how many males here are cd, tv, ts etc. I hope the women here understand that lingerie can be worn by males. So thats just kinda my take on the thread. Others join with their comments.

As a guy, I certainly understand your points regarding panties but I just can't understand why a man would wear a bra. My philosophy is that if you don't have the equipment or anything to fill it with, then it's pointless. I can understand wearing a skirt, but not a dress unless it looked like a long mans shirt or maybe a Japanese yukata.

I've seen panties for men and bras for men, but I can't imagine buying them because they are FOR men. Maybe it's just me, but I think mens clothes are boring and would avoid them if I could. Society in general and rules around the office prevent me from being myself most of the time, but someone needs to start a country where nobody cares what you look like. There's an episode of The Simpsons which has a 'Do what you feel' day that we all need. And why are panties for men sometimes known as "sissy" panties? That term is a real turn-off. I'm not a sissy and don't want to be called one. Also, there is another piece of clothing with a more unfortunate name: the "wife beater". It's a t-shirt with no sleeves. It's a horrible name and connotation, so I won't wear one of those either.

Anyway, that's my thought or two.

Now here's my question for everyone: if I put a section on my web site of panties that are for women but would be suitable for a man, would you find that useful enough to want to come back and possibly make a purchase? By 'suitable' I mean the kind that have extra room in the front, usually from stretch lace, etc. What do you think?

As I stated in my profile, there are as many variations of transvestism as there is transvestites, and the correct defination of transvestite from the original Greek refers to anyone wearing clothes of the opposite sex, and therefore if one dresses completely as a member of the opposite sex, or just one or two items , they are a transvestite! The reasons for wanting to do so are also as varied as there are transvestites, all have their own reasons, and most of them have nothing to do with sex. The original Greek defination only refers to a member of one sex wearing item(s) of clothing of the opposite sex, without mention of sexual excitement/arousal//relief etc!

Well, still, kinda slow here, gained a few new members and looks like a lot of them are quite. Why dont we all give a little background of how we started wearing lingerie or what brought us to this site. I am pretty open about wearing lingerie and if someone is worried about what someone else thinks, its not big deal. I have found that most others really dont care. It is much more common than what others think. some are just afaid to admit it. We have 29 members and it would be great if some others would say a few things. I have been into lingerie for many years and learned a lot about it and have tried a lot of it. So anyway, lets speak up and and talk a little.

I echo Bruce's comments on why we men wear lingerie. I am also hetro and married with grownup chikldren.

I have been wearing ladies knickers for many years and like them better than mens. They are made from softer and lighter materials but because of this, unfortunately, knickers don't last as long. Stitching and elastic, especially round the legs come undone and they fail to fit.. My wife has known for many years that I wear but still doesnt want the chikdren to know.

As for bras, I have worn bras off and on for many years, and I suppose the enjoyment is that they make me feel really femme and at one with my wife althogh she doesnt know I wear. The only downside is that it is difficult to be accepted by both women and men and bras have to be hidden under non see through sweaters.

Just some more added personel info I have been working on. The last few weeks, I have been able to get out and shop for some of my favorite items from the more fem side. I have gone out especially to visit the lingerie shops and lingerie depts in the big stores, about 6 trips altogether. It was cool enought that I could wear a bra and nice blouse that when I unzipped my jacket, you could see the white bra thru the sheer blouse I was wearing. so as I shopped in the stores, I would pay close attention to reactions and what others would do when they could see or even take notice of what I was wearing. Most sales assoc. would not even come over to me for assistance, usually kept busy doing other things. The 2 specialty shops I went to however did pay much more attention.
The Fredicks store I shop at the most was the best, As I entered, I was greeted and the sales assoc, came up to me and asked me what I was looking for, as she came around to the front of me, she notice right off that I was wearing a white lace bra with a dressy blouse and didnt bat an eye, She smiled and made some small talk as I asked some questions. I told her that I really wanted to try the liquid gel push up bra, she said sure, they are realy nice. As we talked about them, she took it off the hanger and told me to slip into the dressing room and try it on. Since I was the only one in the store, I did, quite nervous, but it was great, she even asked how it fit, if I needed another size or color or style, she wanted to know how it was working and I told her it was really nice the gel push up really worked,.
She asked if I really liked it, take off the tag and keep it on. I thought wow, thats service. So I kept it on, took off the tag, put my blouse back on and to push the limit, I walked out of the dressing room without my jacket showing off the bright white C cup bra under the blouse and made my way to the cashier desk. I asked her if she was ok with all this and she said sure, happends all the time, its no big deal. As I paid for the bra and made more small talk, I put my jacket back on and asked her for a bag to put the bra I had on. As we finished, She insisted that I come back, I said im sure I will.

So my point to all this is, that no matter what store you go into, most people really dont care what you wear, some wont help you or ignore you, some are a little taken back even when they know your buying for your self etc. but most dont care, now I am carefull where I go, time, place etc,

Just thought I would share the experience and get some feedback going.

Hi Bruce

thanks for keeping this discussion going.

Ive been dressing since high school and within the last year have told my long term girlfriend about it. She is ok with it and doesn't try to change me. She's very wonderful and I am lucky. She doesn't want to take part and that's ok with me. Having told her was definitely worth it and I feel better having done it.

I love dressing because the lingerie and clothing are just wonderful. The feel of Satin Panties, garter belts, slips etc. is completely different than any men's clothing. There is also a great sense of wearing something secret under your clothing that makes you feel sexy. I think its a natural thing to feel this way. Women do the same things with men's clothing, albeit for different reasons sometimes. A perfect example is the women's pant suit. Its meant to be formal but also to convey a sense of seriousness and authority when worn in an office. It also used to be unheard of for women to wear pants at all.

I love to dress up and feel relaxed and feminine. Women oftentimes want their men to be considerate, emotional, and be able to talk about things. You could say that these are all feminine qualities and I feel that I am a better person having exlpored my feminine side.

Thats all for now,

talk to you soon

Well, I guess I do have it more lucky than most, I work out of my house most of the time except for meetings etc, so im pretty much always in lingerie of some sorts, I get up early and at my computer about 7 am but usually in a nitie with panties and a bra till about 8:30 while I do all my reading, but when going to meetings, its suit and tie with bra and panties, sometimes stockings and garter. its great.

Just another funny little story, I had to drop of some things off at Kinkos and it was going to take about an hour, so I decided to hang out at th local starbucks, I was wearing some shorts and large v neck ER shirt that hardly covers your belt line, nothing fancy at all except for the bright pink lace top olga panties and camisole.

Anyway, I was sitting there kinda bent over reading some material, and the lady across from me working on a laptop kept checking me out, then I as l look down, you could see my pink and white lace camisole. I paused knowing what she was looking at and I set up and just smiled. She kinda smiled back with a interesting look, so after a couple of seconds, I slipped my finger in under my shirt and adjusted my strap, She just looked and smiled and when on. Im sure she had a story to tell that day. Maby she just assumed I was wearing matching panties

I also am 'just a crossdresser', meaning I like to wear the clothing, present myself as female in public, but have absolutely no desire to change my body from male to female. I found a long time ago that women's panties are much more comfortable than mens', last longer than men's cotton briefs, and because the nylon doesn't stretch, gives better support for a longer period of time. Someone in another forum once stated about men wearing panties: "Try the Bali Skimp Scamp panties. You'll never go back to men's briefs." The Bali panties are good, but they are not the silk, super nice designer lingerie spoken of in here. Long live the designer lingerie, especially the real silk lingerie!

the scoop panty from Olga is one of my favorites, They fit well, little wider crotch then most, and the 2" of lace on the top waistband is great,

Any you pantie wearers out there like to wear low rise pants and let your lace top panties show, I do it all the time, its really fun, especially when shopping, its great to be in the lingerie dept. where most guys dont travel, and shop with the ladies and let your pretty undies show just a little, even the outline of your bra is fun to.
